This operation regards the riqualification of a productive area with the realization of an office body of two floors for the new directional office of Olimpias spa (firm which withholds seven brand names; produces 20 million kg of thread; 55 million meter of textiles; dye-washes 5,5 million pieces of clothes; 200 million pieces of labels) and is characterized by certain architectural decisions which put the organism in strong contact with external ambient.
The architect was asked to realize an amplification of the Olimpias offices with the bond of projecting the new structure in adherence to the existing productive volume, redesigning the entrance to the site, parking areas and internal state of roads. In doing this owever the architect never puts in second place the quality of life and comfort in the internal working spaces, promoting and emphasizing Olimpias image.
The building is realized in concrete and the profiles of the windows used are in zinc plated steel. The main facade is completely made of glass, and has an arcade characterized by concrete septums which create a certain movement, while the opposite facade blends with the already existing productive area.
The outside, has been thought of as an open space characterized by the green garden and water and delimited by an architectural concrete wall. Actually the space characterized by the presence of the water tends to carry out the role of appearing as the main entrance of the building.
The internal spaces of two floors are developed in a simple planimetrical symmetrical scheme based an central axis generated from the staircase, besides which we find, on both its sides, two large courts.
These square shaped courts are completely glass made and both hold a small garden, which is visible from the entrance, the work stations and the hallways.
The remaining office spaces, after deciding the positions for the meeting rooms, have been left free from internal division with the only bond of the hosiery of structural pillars.
The quality and quantity of natural light, which penetrate, change in relation with the ham of day and seasons of the year, creating views of different shadows from inside to the outside.
The walkway, which is perpendicular to the office building, is coasted along by a separated body, always made of concrete and glass, only towards the water basin area, which becomes and is used as a showroom for the firms various products.
